Every day
A dry cloth. Water rings lift with a little oil and patience, so there is no need to panic about a wet glass — but do lift it.
Twice a year
Wipe on a thin coat of hardwax oil with a lint-free cloth, leave it twenty minutes, then wipe off everything that has not soaked in. The commonest mistake is leaving too much on, which stays tacky for weeks.
Scratches and dents
A dent in an oiled surface will often rise if you lay a damp cloth over it and touch it briefly with an iron. Deep scratches sand out with 240 grit and a re-oil. This is the whole reason we do not lacquer.
The ten-year guarantee
If a joint fails, a leg loosens or a top splits within ten years, we collect the piece, repair it and return it at no charge — including delivery both ways. It covers the structure, not accidental damage, and it transfers if you sell the piece on.
